Our story
Bob Armstrong was born and raised in Wichita and has been in construction here since 1981, on the residential plumbing side. Years in and out of half-built houses, talking to the people who would live in them, are what pushed him to branch out: he kept hearing that buyers knew the house they wanted, and the market kept handing them something adjacent to it.

Bob is joined by an experienced staff and by both his sons — John, a licensed general contractor, and Bobby, a licensed real estate agent — which is what sets the company up to outlast its founder rather than retire with him.

Founder
Born and raised in Wichita, Bob has worked in the city’s residential construction industry since 1981, starting on the residential plumbing side. Years on building sites listening to homeowners is what pushed him to start his own company — one that built the houses buyers actually asked for rather than whatever the market happened to be putting up.
Licensed General Contractor
Bob’s son John is a licensed general contractor in his own right and holds a business management degree from Pittsburg State University. He oversees day-to-day construction and is the direct contact for buyers starting a custom home — John@RJCastle.com reaches him.
Licensed Real Estate Agent
Bob’s son Bobby is a licensed real estate agent who handles the sales side of the business, including available homes and Eagle Lux Garage Condo units in Maize.
Contractor
A skilled contractor with 33 years in the building industry, Thane brings decades of hands-on field experience to RJ Castle Homes’ job sites.
